UE4 Overgrown NOPE House

This is my Final Major Project from my time studying at Solent University. I started this project with the intent on creating a real time environment cinematic rendered in UE4, with a keen interest on foliage and vegetation I wanted to build an abandoned environment where the plant life had reclaimed the scene. The farmhouse style centrepiece is inspired from the Haywood Family House from the 2022 Jordan Peele movie NOPE, and the vegetation around the scene was heavily based on overgrown aesthetic of TLOU series specifically the Santa Barbara section in Pt II.
Almost all assets in the scene were fully created by myself using Blender3D, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, ZBrush, and Speedtree. The only 3rd party assets used where one tree bark textured sourced from mega scans and the HDRI + clouds used to light the scene. The majority of the 10 weeks of production were used to experiment with different types foliage using programs such as Speedtree as I had previously done little vegetation work before this project and want to push myself to learn new these new techniques, it was a real challenge to create realistic looking foliage while still having the asset optimised enough to work within a games engine.
Overall I really enjoyed working on this project especially adding small details such as distance trees and radio towers as well as animating a simple bird flock and a small dragonfly to add some life to the scene.
